On matchday 9 of the 2021-2022 Serie A TIM, it ends 1-1 at the Gewiss Stadium in Bergamo against Udinese. After Malinovskyi’s opener, the victory faded away in stoppages.
It was a very balanced start, as the Nerazzurri’s efforts were neutralised by the Udinese defenders. Molina came sliding in to hit the back post on 22 minutes, then Molina’s finish in the 35th minute went over the bar. In the final minutes, the best chances came off Iličić, whose close-range deflection bounced off the post on 39 minutes, and Pašalić, who severely tested Silvestri one minute later.
Iličić’s left-foot curler just wide opened up the second half. In matches like these, long-range shots can be decisive and that is how the deadlock was broken on 56 minutes: Malinovskyi hit a left-foot missile into the far bottom corner that left Silvestri no way out. In the final minutes, Scalvini, a Nerazzurri Academy’s player born in 2003, made his Serie A debut. Musso had to make a great save on Lovato’s deflection to avoid an own goal on 90 minutes. But eventually, Beto equalised in the 94th minute with a header from a corner.
