On matchday 32 of the 2020-2021 Serie A TIM season, the match against Roma ends 1-1 at the stadio Olimpico.
It was a lively match with end to end stuff and a high tempo. The Nerazzurri got immediately dangerous on 9 with Malinovskyi’s left-foot finish: Pau Lopez denied him at the near post. Djimsiti then charged down Pellegrini’s shot on goal on 15 and, on the counter, Zapata fired off target with his left foot. The same went for Dzeko on 18. Two minutes later, another Zapata effort on Malinovksyi’s through ball was saved by Pau Lopez. Then Malinovskyi set up Iličić, whose right-foot shot was turned wide by Pau Lopez. Atalanta finally managed to take the lead on 26 through Malinovksyi, who found Gosens’ assist to break the deadlock. Freuler almost doubled their lead on 34, but his effort was once again deflected by Pau Lopez for a corner.
The Nerazzurri looked for a second goal even in the second half. Ibanez charged down Gosens’ shot on 54 and then Romero skimmed the top corner with a left-foot curler one minute later. Roma had an attempt with Mkhitaryan on 61, but his shot was over. The Nerazzurri almost made it 2-0 on 64 when Zapata set up Muriel, who fired off target from a scoring position. Atalanta then went down to 10 men on 69 when Gosens was shown a second yellow card. Being one man up, Roma’s pressure started growing and they equalised through Cristante on 75 with a shot from distance. In the final minutes, Dzeko and then Carles Perez forced a save from Gollini.
