On matchday 9 fixture of the 2022-2023 Serie A TIM season, the match against Udinese ends 2-2 at the Dacia Arena in Udine.
It was a fairly even and hard-fought game since the opening minutes, with only a few chances in the first thirty minutes, except for a poor Muriel effort in the 16th minute. The deadlock was broken in the 36th minute after Koopmeiners’ very long ball found Muriel, who rolled it across for Lookman to tap in the opener.
Atalanta doubled their lead in the 56th minute, as Muriel was brought down by Udogie inside the penalty area and then converted the spot kick into the bottom corner. However, Udinese pulled one back on 67 minutes with a free kick from Deulofeu and then poured forward looking for an equaliser, which arrived in the 78th minute through Perez, who nodded in from Pereyra’s cross. The tempo was high in the final minutes and Arslan had the chance to seal the win for the hosts in the 92nd minute, but luckily his angled drive was wide.
Gasperini hit an important landmark today, as this was his 300th game in charge of Atalanta, overcoming Emiliano Mondonico at the top of the all-time list of managers in the Club’s history.
