2020-2021 review: Hans Hateboer

The season of the Nerazzurri number 33

With two goals in the opening matches and two assists in the final games, Hans Hateboer also put his name to the 2020-2021 season, despite an injury that forced him to skip a lot of matches. But when he was there, his contribution was felt: 30 games played in all competitions (22 in Serie A TIM, 6 in the UEFA Champions League, 2 in the Coppa Italia), 2 goals scored and 4 assists provided. In the league, he immediately scored in the 4-goal away wins at Torino and Lazio. In the Champions League, he assisted Gosens in the 2-0 goal at Anfield in the historic victory against Liverpool. In the Coppa Italia final he provided the assist for the temporary Malinovskyi’s equalizer. He is one of the three Nerazzurri able to make at least one assist in all three competitions in which he played this season.

Then the official Serie A League statistics about the league: 1843 minutes played, 10,277 km run on average per game (fourth in the team ranking), 28 shots made, 16 goalscoring chances created, 3 key passes, 67 ball recoveries.

Hans’s international campaign with the Netherlands was also satisfying. In the Oranje team shirt, he provided the assist for Bergwijn’s winner in the 1-0 victory over Poland in the UEFA Nations League in September.
