Lying in wait for the unravelling of Monday’s two late fixtures (namely, the Primavera taking on Lecce in the 16:30 CEST outing and the Under 18s facing Cagliari in Zingonia at 15:00 CEST), the other two commitments of the weekend culminated as follows: as for the U15s, Empoli eventually came out on top from the 1st-leg of the quarterfinals on the grounds of the 1-2 win clinched at the Centro Bortolotti in Zingonia (with Bolis scoring for the Black-and-blues). The 2nd leg will instead be played next Sunday in Tuscany.
After a noteworthy performance, the Under 14s were crowned runners-up of the Abano Football Trophy in Abano Terme, only bowing down to Brazilian side Flamengo in the extra times (1-0). On the road to the final, our lads racked up impressive performances against the likes of Udinese (defeated 1-0 in the semifinal) and Fiorentina (bested 1-0 in the quarterfinals) in the knockouts. As far as the group stage goes, the U14s imposed themselves over Hellas Verona (2-0), and Slavia Praga (4-1) and only tied 1-1 against Red Bull Academy.
Moving on to our Female sides, the Under 15s, already qualified to the quarterfinals, suffered a 1-0 defeat in the home match played in Zingonia against Hellas Verona as part of the Interregional Phase.
