Atalanta 1-0 Juventus

Malinovskyi with the late winner

On matchday 31 of the 2020-2021 Serie A TIM, Atalanta claim an extremely important win over Juventus at the Gewiss Stadium in Bergamo: Malinovskyi scored the winner in the final minutes.

It was a very balanced match and it was hard-fought in every portion of the pitch. The first chance came off Pessina on 24: his left-foot finish was inches wide as it was also deflected by a defender. One minute later, Zapata nodded off target. Juventus had a chance on 34: Morata won the ball in the box and tried to dink it over Gollini, but Djimsiti cleared it off the line. In the final minutes, the Bianconeri pushed more and more, but the Nerazzurri defenders closed any space.

Pašalić came on for Pessina in the second half. Muriel skimmed the far top corner with a great right-foot curler on 59. Two minutes later, Dybala’s free-kick flashed wide. There was another chance for the Nerazzurri on 69: Iličić, right off the bench, crossed from the right for Zapata’s header which skimmed the post. Juventus had the chance to take the lead on 76 when Morata’s volley was turned round the post by Gollini. Malinovskyi forced the Juventus goalkeeper to make a great save to deny him on 86, but he eventually scored one minute later: Malinovskyi’s left-foot rocket from the edge of the box was deflected into the net by Alex Sandro. That was the match-winner.
