On matchday 31 of the 2021-2022 Serie A TIM, Napoli win 3-1 at the Gewiss Stadium in Bergamo.
The first chance was for the Nerazzurri, with Malinovskyi’s header palmed away by Ospina on 8 minutes. The deadlock was broken in the 14th minute with a penalty from Insigne (the penalty was awarded after a VAR check for a Musso foul on Mertens). Freuler tried immediately to respond, but his angled drive was inches wide. Napoli doubled their lead on 37 minutes through Politano, who volleyed in from an Insigne free kick. Just before half-time, the visitors had to block a few attempts from Atalanta, a Scalvini header was over and Koulibaly’s attempt was plucked out of the air by Musso.
In the second half, the Nerazzurri managed to halve their disadvantage in the 58th minute through de Roon, who nodded in from Miranchuk. The Nerazzurri kept on pushing hard looking for an equalizer, which resulted in Boga forcing a save off Ospina on 76 minutes, but Napoli added another through Elmas on 81 minutes to make 1-3.
