Muriel got off to a great start as he broke the deadlock and gave Atalanta the lead. He first scored from the penalty spot on 22, after Iličić had been taken down inside the box, then he fired a left-foot angled drive into the net to beat Da Costa just one minute later. A sensational 1-2 from Muriel within sixty seconds. The game was on the right path for Atalanta, as Iličić and Gosens had two more attempts before half-time.

In the second half, Bologna showed up with a finish over the bar fired by Barrow and Svanberg’s shot which was well saved by Gollini. On 73 Tomiyasu with a soft-touch finish pulled one back for Bologna and then Paz completed the comeback on the resulting corner on 82. 2020 ends with a 2-2 draw.
