In the 2020-2021 Serie A TIM matchday 6 the Nerazzurri seal an important 2-1 win away to Crotone at the Scida stadium: a brace bagged by Muriel in the first half seals the result.
Gasperini’s team had a strong start and got immediately dangerous in the first ten minutes twice with Muriel (in the middle also a chance for Crotone through our former player Reca). The lead came on 26 through Muriel, assisted by Malinovskyi: the Colombian’s sharp finish left no way out for Cordaz. Gomez and again Muriel were close to doubling the Nerazzurri lead, which arrived in the 38th minute, again through Muriel: he sent a cool right-foot finish into the near bottom corner, as he was set up by Remo Freuler, to seal the 2-o lead. Before the break, however, Simy pulled one back.
In the second half, there was a big risk in the 64th minute when Messias also went past Sportiello but Freuler providentially snatched the ball. In the other box, it was Cordaz who parried Malinovskyi’s attempt to finish off the game. Zapata also tried to score twice, but without luck. It ended 2-1 with the Nerazzurri defenders that were good at denying Crotone to equalise. Tuesday will be about the Champions League again: the Gewiss Stadium hosts Liverpool.
