Gian Piero Gasperini spoke at a press conference ahead of Atalanta’s first match of the second half of the season, when the Nerazzurri host Sampdoria at the Gewiss Stadium in Bergamo. The 2022-2023 Serie A TIM matchday 20 fixture is scheduled for Saturday 28 January at 20:45 CET: “No one will underestimate the match against Sampdoria. It’s something we have never done before, therefore we will not do it tomorrow. Right now the team are more confident; we performed comebacks against Spezia, Bologna, and even Juventus. It is a good period for us”.

Then he moved on to tomorrow’s opponents: “It’s always difficult to take on Sampdoria, but it is clear that three key points are up for grabs tomorrow. These games are tricky, we need to be very careful. We are to face a good team, who deserve a better position in the standings, even considering their last few games”.
