On matchday 17 of the 2020-2021 Primavera 1 TIM “Trofeo Giacinto Facchetti” championship, Atalanta draw 1-1 against Milan at the Bortolotti Training Centre in Zingonia.
The teams on the pitch wore a black armband and observed a minute’s silence before kick-off in memory of Daniel Guerini, the Lazio Primavera player who died prematurely.
The first chance of the game was for the Nerazzurri on 9 when Sidibe’s right-foot finish from the edge of the box skimmed the post. One minute later, Milan broke the deadlock through Michelis, who scored a header from a corner. Coach Brambilla’s team didn’t take long to react. Šutalo broke into the box on 17, Cortinovis hit the post with a great shot from outside on 35 and Gyabuaa fired over from close range on 38. Then the Rossoneri defence denied Cortinovis on 39 and Michelis cleared Sidibe’s shot off the line on 42. Finally, Vorlicky fired wide from a good position one minute later.
The Nerazzurri kept pressing also in the second half. Kobacki’s through ball on 12 found Gyabuaa, whose left-foot angled drive finished wide. Sidibe was denied once again by the Rossoneri on 69 but Gyabuaa found the winning deflection after Scalvini’s header on the resulting corner. In the final minutes, Dajcar pulled off a great save on Frigerio’s long-range effort, but the final chance of the match came off Vorlicky in stoppage time: Jungdal deflected his finish for a corner.
