The regular season ends with a defeat for the Nerazzurri Primavera: on matchday 34 of the 2021-2022 Primavera 1 TIMVISION “Trofeo Giacinto Facchetti” championship the home side were beaten 4-2 by Sassuolo at the Centro Bortolotti in Zingonia. The Nerazzurri qualified fourth and will face Juventus in the first round of the Final Stage.
The game was rich in chances and the deadlock was broken within just 6 minutes through Paz’s right-foot strike. But the Nerazzurri reacted immediately through Sidibe, who tried his luck several times (with a right-foot strike that was slightly off target and a header straight at the goalkeeper), Panada, whose finish skimmed the post and Cisse, who put in an outstanding display and got an equaliser on 22 minutes. However, Atalanta went down to 10 men on 32 minutes after Ceresoli was sent off for a second bookable offence. In the 35th minute, Sassuolo were back in the lead through Samele’s tap-in after Dajcar denied D’Andrea. With one goal and one man down, Brambilla’s men didn’t give up and on 38 minutes had a good opportunity to level the score: foul on Olivieri inside the box but Zacchi parried Sidibe’s penalty.
The second half started with a goal-line clearance on Samele’s attempt and with Dajcar’s double save on Aucelli and the same Samele (65′). In the 74th minute, Atalanta managed to make it 2-2 through Fisic, who found the space after a good team move and beat Zacchi with a precise finish. Both sides went in search of the winner: Sidibe caused trouble for Zacchi on 76 minutes and on the other side of the pitch Dajcar had to struggle with D’Andrea on 77 minutes. So, Fisic ran into the box again and forced two saves from the visiting goalkeeper on 78 minutes. In the 85th minute, Miranda cleared off the line Omar’s lob. However, in the final minutes, Sassuolo found the back of the net twice: in the 89th through Pieragnolo and in the 93rd through Mata. Now the Nerazzurri are heading into the Final Stage.
