Primavera Cagliari 0-2 Atalanta

Goals from Rosa and Renault

On matchday 22 of the 2020-2021 Primavera 1 TIM 2020-2021, coach Brambilla’s Atalanta beat Cagliari 2-0 at the Sardegna Arena and thus claim their third win in a row.

The first chance of the game was for Cagliari: Tramoni’s shot on 6 was smothered by Dajcar. The Nerazzurri immediately responded to it in the 8th minute, as a first attempt was cleared by a defender, while the second effort was over. After Cortinovis-Gyabuaa’s give and go, the captain’s shot was beaten away. On the other end, Luvumbro’s shot from close range went wide on 31. Sidibe, who came on for Olivieri who picked up an injury in the 15th minute, forced a great save by Ciocci. But on the resulting corner, Kobacki’s header found Rosa who tapped in at the far post.

In the second half, Luvumbro immediately tested Dajcar after a minute, but the Nerazzurri almost doubled their lead on 49 after a good give-and-go between Kobacki and Sidibe, who fired off target from close range. Cagliari threatened Atalanta with a low shot from Michelotti, which skimmed the post in the 52nd minute. Five minutes later, Gyabuaa picked out Cortinovis in the middle of the box, who turned: his shot was deflected for a corner by Ciocci. The host almost equalised through Contini but Dajcar did well to rush out and parry the close-range finish. Two minutes later Atalanta doubled their lead: Cortinovis on the counter sent Renault through on goal, who put the game to bed with a kick with his right outside-of-the-boot. It ended 2-0 at the Sardegna Arena and the Nerazzurri climb up to 34 points, waiting for Wednesday’s rearranged fixture away to Empoli.
