Primavera Frosinone 1-2 Atalanta

Vlahović and Colombo sealed the three points

On matchday 31 of the Primavera 1 TIM 2022-2023 “Trofeo Giacinto Facchetti” league, Atalanta Primavera claimed a very important victory over Frosinone at the Centro Sportivo di Ferentino, as coach Bosi’s lads won 2-1 thanks to goals from Vlahović and Colombo (pictured in the cover photo), thus notching up their second consecutive victory and reaching 38 points.

After a balanced start, the first chance of the game was Muhameti’s long-range left-foot strike in the 18th minute that skimmed the post. The hosts reacted on 22 minutes through Bouabre, whose header was inches off target. Vavassori had a go on 27 minutes, but his finish was over, and then Moncina’s shot was off target at the half-hour mark. After Vlahović failed to turn in Regonesi’s pass on 38 minutes, Falleni did find the back of the net in the 45th minute, but his goal was ruled offside.

In the second half, Frosinone made themselves dangerous with a couple of shots over from Cangianiello and Moncina’s close-range effort in the 56th minute, which was splendidly smothered by Bertini. The deadlock was broken in the 65th minute when Vlahović managed to tap in from Falleni’s header, opening the scoring, but the lead only lasted four minutes, as Frosinone equalised in the 69th minute through an unfortunate Colombo own goal from Gozzo’s cross. It was all to do again, but Bosi’s squad reacted immediately and restored their lead in the 72nd minute: Falleni broke down the left and Colombo immediately made up for the own goal making it 2-1. And that turned out to be the winning goal because the Nerazzurri defenders held off Frosinone’s pressure in the final minutes, with Bertini making some crucial saves, and Palmisani thwarted the last black-and-blue chance. On the grounds of this display, Atalanta sealed three key points: the team will hit the pitch again on Wednesday for the home midweek match against Bologna.
