Today was definitely different from what we had imagined. Atalanta should have played their first match of 2022: according to the fixture list, which is not asymmetric in this case, the Nerazzurri would have had to face Torino, the same opponent of matchday 1. As is well known, the match between Atalanta and Torino did not take place. As for the Nerazzurri, an afternoon training session was held at the Gewiss Stadium.

With a statement on their website that was published last evening, the Granata club had confirmed that the Health Local Authority (ASL) had ordered the Torino squad to observe a 5-day quarantine. For this reason, they had confirmed they couldn’t reach Bergamo to play the match against the Nerazzurri.

Therefore, Atalanta played a training match in the family on a full-size pitch first and then on a reduced field in the presence of the press. The next session for the Nerazzurri is scheduled for tomorrow afternoon at the Bortolotti Training Centre behind closed doors.
