Castagne: “Not easy, but we deserved it”

Atalanta-Bologna post-match interview

It was a hard-fought but heavy win, as the 3 points allow Atalanta, which brought their tally to 74 points on the table, to set the new record for points won in their history in the top flight. Not only that, according to Timothy Castagne, the game against Bologna was a “difficult, but important one because it prepares us for the next matches”.

Here is the interview with the Nerazzurri wing-back.

“We want to add a little more to this record. It wasn’t easy today. But this also prepares us, as you can’t always score from the beginning. It took us longer, but in the end we did it and kept the result on 1-0. So, it was good today”.

It was a tough match, as Bologna have quality.

“Sure. They have quality, they played well. At the end there was a little more space and made the most of it. It’s our strength to be in a good shape. So, when we can take advantage of it, it’s even better”.

These narrow wins show maturity and personality, as you can’t always score lots of goals. But, managing to take the lead, keeping the lead and bringing the result home shows that you’re a great team.

“Sure. That’s what we must improve a little. It’s not that you immediately become a great team, you must always get better and learn. Then we’ll see, but we’re on the right track”.

Timothy, the are only three last ‘efforts’ of this league to go, then you’ll have the Champions League. Everything is packed, you don’t have time to think, as you must immediately focus on the following fixture. Now there’s Milan or you’re already ‘speaking’ French, thinking of PSG?

“No, we’re thinking about Milan. We’re always thinking about the following match. We know how Paris Saint Germain play. We know that Milan play similarly. Also Bologna play this way. That prepares us a little”.
