Mojica’s first interview as a Nerazzurro

After signing, the interview

The Colombian Johan Mojica’s signing for Atalanta is also official. As per tradition for the new Atalanta players, after putting pen to paper, here’s his first interview.

“I’m really happy to be here. Luckily I had the opportunity to join a great club. I really want to work, to help the team, so that they continue to grow and keep doing that great work that they have delivered on and off the pitch. I am really happy to be a part of this club. This is a team whose work, efforts and style of play must be emphasised. You can tell that they are a team on and off the pitch, and for those who know football, you can tell that they are a fairly united team. I followed them and I really like the team. You can tell that they’re well balanced when they play and I believe it resembles what I am as a footballer”.

“Johan Mojica is a thoroughbred footballer, I’ve worked for so many years to be where I am today. I am left-footed, I play as a left-back, as wing-back or winger. I know the left flank well. I consider myself a quick player, with a good cross. I’m tactically diligent and above all a hard worker, which is probably the main thing in my job”.

“I am a normal person, I am very spiritual, I am friendly, I believe a lot in earning things through effort, discipline and work. I am also a cheerful guy. I come from a beautiful country, Colombia, and that says a lot. I consider myself a peaceful man and also blessed for the career that I’m living”.

“I was impressed with how I was welcomed. I’m really happy as you can tell as this is a team well focused on working and this suits me. I really liked the colours, I was fascinated with the colour of the shirt and the sentence [“La maglia sudata sempre”] on it, which spurs the player to take to the pitch with hunger and desire to win”.

“I know Luis Muriel and Duván Zapata very well, they’re excellent people and footballers, they’re in an excellent team for a reason. I have the great opportunity and the privilege to play with them not only in the national team, but also in the club. I’m here to honour the name of Colombia, as they and other teammates who play in the Italian league already did”.

“[Calí] is the world capital of salsa, of course, and also of great players. We are cheerful people who work hard, with a lot of energy, like we say back in our country. Duván showed it as well, he’s really loved here, as he’s a hard worker and a real person. He earned his place here and I’m here to give continuity to what my great teammates are doing”.

“My goal is to help the team so that it continues to be great, to grow and to make a great impression. I’m here to contribute my football, my professionalism on and off the pitch. I make myself available, so that everything goes according to the plans of the club. I really want to win to help, to compete, to work, to show my effort. And obviously to prove why I’m here”.
