UCL Last 16: update on Valencia 25/02

Celades's team sit in eighth place in the table

Valencia, Atalanta’s 2019-2020 UCL round of 16 second leg opponents, were defeated 3-0 away to Real Sociedad in the last round of the league on Saturday: Merino and Monreal scored in the first half, while Januzaj scored at the beginning of the second half.

The Spaniards coached by Albert Celades sit now in eighth place in the table with 38 points, joint with Villareal, and were overcome by Real Sociedad with a two points gap, having the latter to play one more match. The table looks very short anyway, as it sees Atletico Madrid and Siviglia share third place, just five lengths away from Valencia.

Before the UCL round of 16 2nd leg on 10th March, Valencia are set to play two more league matches: a home match against Betis on Saturday 29th February and away to Alaves on 6th March.
