The new jerseys by Joma

Past, present and future in the three kits

Tradition and innovation, past and future that blend with the present. All this is in the new jerseys for the 2020/2021 season. The new collection created by Joma for Atalanta B.C. was developed using the hallmarks of the club’s past, present and future. Three versions, the more traditional Nerazzurri one, the away one and the third alternative, in which the attention to every detail makes the difference, making them unique and special.

In all shirts, in the inner part of the collar, the phrase “LA MAGLIA SUDATA SEMPRE” (“Always sweat the shirt”) still appears, while the sign “ATALANTA BERGAMO” was inserted behind the collar to underline the bond with the city. This detail is also echoed in the inner part of the bottom of the shirt, where there is a polyester insert with the one-colour version of the club’s logo printed in sublimation, alongside the sign “ATALANTA BERGAMO”.

The home shirt is created in a new fitting, which favours greater adherence to the body and is characterised by vertical black and blue stripes which are thinner than the last seasons’ shirts: the result is a retro style, with a strong reference with the past. The shirt is distinguished by the particular processing of the fabric in which it is made: it is customised jacquard, characterised by the insertion of the club’s logo and the year of its foundation in the weave of the fabric itself, resulting completely customised.

In the away shirt, the distinctive element is the asymmetrical and futuristic design created through a geometric print that uses a range of colours ranging from blue to black. Even the ribs of the collar and the sleeves, made one in the colours of the club and one white, are inserted asymmetrically and inverted between them.

The collection designed by Joma for the 20/21 sporting season is completed with the third shirt, made in a particular shade of blue, and characterised by a black-blue horizontal band that finds space in the upper part. The peculiarity of the third jersey, characterised by an open lap collar, with an accordion rib in the club’s colours, is however the embossed insertion of the external profile of the new Curva Nord “Pisani” of the GEWISS STADIUM, the home of Atalanta and its fans.


To create the new 2020-2021 kit, all the quality standards envisaged by Joma have been applied both with regard to the football jerseys of the players and to the jerseys intended for sale, identical to those supplied to the team. Joma’s idea is to design and produce according to the latest sportswear technologies, to improve each player’s comfort and offer fans a high quality product.

The shirts are produced in polyester, a fiber that is characterised by its quality and elasticity, as well as by its excellent resistance and comfort. This fabric boasts excellent breathability thanks to the application of the DRY MX finish, which allows to have a fabric that can control the athlete’s body moisture. Thanks to the application of this technology, the body always remains dry and at a constant temperature, thus favouring the technical performance of athletes.

In areas of maximum sweating, where the player needs greater perspiration, the fabric was treated with the MICRO-MESH system, a technology that favours the evaporation of body heat, increasing the feeling of comfort. Another detail that contributes to the athlete’s comfort is the FLATLOCK seams system, flat seams that prevent possible rubbing on the skin, allowing maximum freedom of movement. The club shield, the transfers and the Joma logos are made of an elastic and flexible material and are all heat sealed. The jerseys will be on sale at the Atalanta Store, online and at Joma retailers in Italy for Atalanta’s debut in the 2020-2021 Champions League.
