Second away win in a row with four goals scored: in the rearranged fixture of the 2020-2021 Serie A TIM matchday 1 at the Olimpico stadium in Rome the Nerazzurri beat Lazio 4-1 after an amazing team performance.

In the warm-up Lazio lose Correa, who had been named as started and was replaced by Caicedo before the start.It was a very lively game since the very first minutes. On 7 Marusic tested Sportiello, then Palomino was providential to charge down an Immobile finish. Gosens broke the deadlock in the 10th minute who picked up Hateboer’s header to find his first goal of the season. Gosens returned the favour on 32 when the German provided a cross for Hateboer to volley in and double the Nerazzurri lead. Minutes after, Caicedo hit the crossbar. On 42 Papu Gomez picked up a poor Patric clearance to beat Acerbi and send it into the far bottom corner.

In the second half, Lazio tried to get back into the game, but Sportiello saved a Marusic finish in the 55th minute. Two minutes passed and Caicedo pulled one back for the 1-3. On 59 Immobile could pull another back but Sportiello rushed out towards the attacker to force him to send it wide. On 16 Gomez put the game to bed by scoring a left-foot masterpiece into the far top corner. Lazio’s attempts to shorten the gap were not enough, as Palomino charged them down for second time in the game, this time on Caicedo and sealed the 4-1 that give Atalanta 6 points to put them among the leading teams.
