Here’s the full report about the twelve players from the First Team who were in action over the last international break (as previously mentioned, Freuler withdrew from the Swiss squad):
- Musa Barrow sit out in the 3-1 win of the Gambia against Angola and started in the 2-2 draw against Congo.
- Timothy Castagne: started and played every minute in the 4-1 Belgium’s win over Russia and was rested in the 6-1 win over Cyprus.
- Ebrima Colley was rested in the 3-1 Gambia’s win over Angola and came on in the 2-2 draw against Congo.
- Berat Djimsiti: started and played every minute both in the 2-2 draw of Albania against Andorra and in the 2-0 defeat against France.
- Marten de Roon was featured for the first 36 minutes with the Netherlands in their 0-0 draw against Northern Ireland securing qualification for Euro2020 and was suspended for Netherlands-Estonia.
- Pierluigi Gollini made his debut for Italy substituting Donnarumma in the 88th minute in the 3-0 win over Bosnia-Herzegovina and sit out in Italy’s 9-1 win over Armenia.
- Roger Ibañez started and played every minute both in Brazil U23’s 1-0 semifinal win over the USA and Brazil U23’s 1-0 final defeat against Argentina.
- Josip Iličić started and played every minute both in Slovenia’s 1-0 win over Latvia and Slovenia’s 3-2 defeat against Poland: he scored the 2-2 equaliser and provided the assist on the first goal.
- Simon Kjaer was captain and played every minute both in the 6-0 win over Gibraltar and in Denmark’s 1-1 draw against the Republic of Ireland.
- Ruslan Malinovskyi didn’t play in the friendly match against Estonia (on leave to witness the birth of his first child) and featured for 88 minutes in Ukraine’s 2-2 tie against Serbia.
- Luis Muriel started and featured for 58 minutes in Colombia’s 1-0 win in the friendly game against Peru and didn’t play in Colombia-Ecuador in New York.
- Mario Pašalić sit out in Croatia’s 3-1 win over Slovakia which secured his team’s qualification for Euro2020 and featured for 76 minutes in Croatia’s 2-1 win over Georgia.
