Alejandro Papu Gomez is the Player of the season!

In the first phase, the Atalanta fans chose their favourite through a poll, from which the two finalists came out. The Argentinian player then prevailed over Josip Iličić at the end of a hard-fought head-to-head on the Atalanta Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts.

After being voted as the Atalanta Man of the Month for November and December and being named among the MVPs of this season by the Serie A league as the best midfielder, Papu Gomez also won the title as the player of the season. In this extraordinary Nerazzurri season, the captain was a true leader, both in terms of quality and charisma: 8 goals, often stunning and decisive, 16 assists (14 in Serie A, second only to Luis Alberto) and 27 key passes (5th in Serie A).

Papu was also the most used player by Gasperini, with 3610 minutes played in 46 appearances (out of 48).
