Atalanta U19s have won the Primavera title again. The Italian Football Federation FIGC established it by making official the verdicts for the 2019-2020 Primavera 1 TIM Giacinto Facchetti Trophy championship following the permanent suspension of the competition, which took place on the 16th of June. “Having established the final ranking through the corrective coefficient which had been already adopted in other league, the Council has assigned the 2020 Scudetto to Atalanta”, reads the statement of the F.I.G.C.

Coach Massimo Brambilla’s team – at the time of the suspension – were at the top of the table on 48 points, three points clear of Cagliari and nine ahead of Inter, having played one match less than the Sardinian side and two less than the side from Milan.

The decision certifies another season lived as the protagonists for Atalanta U19s, leading the championship from matchday 1 to the last one played, boasting the second best attack in the league with 48 goals in 19 games (Roma scored 52 goals in 21 games) and the best defence, having conceded only 16 goals. Since the first win in mid-September at the Sampdoria ground, to the last one, away to Pescara on 15 February, before the forced stop, the Nerazzurri young players have been consistently improving, facing this path with enthusiasm and passion, whose merits have been acknowledged by giving them this title.

It’s the second Scudetto in a row after last year’s, always with Brambilla on the bench, the fourth overall in the history of the club.
