U15s: video-meeting with Daniele Cassioli

The water ski champion: an example of life

Although the leagues are suspended, the activities of the Academy teams do not stop. Managers and coaches study new initiatives every week to involve players, not only with home-training sessions, but also by organising meetings with professional sports figures who, by telling their own experience, can represent a positive example and a source of enrichment, both from the cultural and educational point of view. And in this respect, the video meeting that coach Alessio Gambirasio’s U15s boys (together with managers and staff members) had with Daniele Cassioli, Italian Water Ski champion and physiotherapist, was certainly a very interesting training experience. Blindness from birth has not prevented him from reaching important personal goals both in sports and professional fields, winning 25 world titles, as many European and 39 Italian titles, holding the world record in three different specialities.

The 33-year-old athlete from Rome told his story to the guys, above all he provided a splendid example of life, showing that when there are passion, a spirit of sacrifice and will, there are no obstacles to making one’s dreams come true. An hour-long chat, a testimony full of interesting ideas. Channelling the energies to do what makes us feel good and feel better, not to be afraid to face difficulties and to express ourselves, to trust in our own abilities, to look for the positive side in every situation, are just some of the precious messages which our guys will surely treasure.
