The 22nd round of the 2022-2023 Primavera 1 TIM 2022-2023 “Trofeo Giacinto Facchetti” league saw Atalanta come off worse from the outing against Sampdoria at the stadium 3 Campanili in Bogliasco, with the draw slipping away in the dying minutes of the match.
The hosts had the first chances of the game, as Porcu forced a save off Bertini in the 12th minute and right after Pozzato fired over. Vlahović sparked Atalanta’s reaction with an effort from the edge of the box that severely tested Tantalocchi in the 13th minute. However, it was the hosts who took the lead in the 15th minute through Montevago. Bertini had to pull off a huge save to deny Migliardi in the 29th minute and De Nipoti brought Atalanta level on 42 minutes with a left-foot shot directly from Regonesi’s throw-in. Before half-time, De Nipoti was inches away from giving the Nerazzurri the lead from a corner kick, as his finish at the back post was slightly off target.
The second half was poor in goalscoring chances, with the defences conceding little space to attack. It was a great play by Leonardi that broke the balance though, as he fired into the top corner with a stunning shot from the edge of the box giving Sampdoria the three points at the death.
