Mario Pašalić: “There’s so much regret”

UCL quarter-finals post-match interview

A beautiful Atalanta were overcome by PSG only in the last minutes of the match, a match well played by the Nerazzurri who first took the lead thanks to Mario Pašalić’s goal: “There is so much regret”.

Mario, a goal, a lot of satisfaction and then the disappointment in the final minutes: what a pity.

“It’s a pity, there’s so much regret, but it’s okay. The Champions League is like this, if you play against teams with quality players, especially at the front/ahead like PSG, it’s difficult. They can score two goals in two minutes, like today. We learn from this, we keep our head held high and we look forward. Hopefully we can do many other good things and do more next year”.

Mario, it was an outstanding season, third place in Serie A, you’ll play in the Champions League next year again. Atalanta reached the UCL quarter-finals on their first appearance and you walked out with your heads held high against PSG.

“It was an incredible season for everybody. It was a long season, a bit special. We reached historic achievements, we did very well in Serie A, finished in third place again. We played in the UCL quarter-finals, which we didn’t expect. We did very well”.

Mario, everyone is proud of Atalanta, the Atalanta fans in Bergamo, but not only them.

“I know, that’s why I feel even more sorry. I hope that we can give them many things and bring joy in the future”.
