The Nerazzurri’s campaign the league starts very well as they opened the season with an away win at Torino. On matchday 2 of the Serie A TIM 2020-2021 Atalanta win 4-2 over Torino at the Olimpico Grande Torino stadium at the end of a vivid and entertaining match, which had seemed to be difficult at the beginning. On 11, in fact, Belotti gave the hosts the lead. Yet, the Nerazzurri’s immediately equalised through captain Gomez, assisted by Zapata, with a wonderful finish from the edge of the box: 100th goal in Papu’s career on the day of his 200th appearance in Serie A with the Nerazzurri. Papu, again, on 21 picked out Muriel who scored a first-time angled drive to beat Sirigu, overturning the result. Before half-time there were two more goals. Hateboer knocked in at the far post, assisted by Papu once again, but Belotti pulled one back when he scored a header. In the second half, after ten minutes, a majestic strike from de Roon, assisted by Muriel, gave Atalanta the control of the game after 10 minutes. In the final minutes, Lammers and Mojica made their debut with the Nerazzurri and in the Serie A.
