On matchday 15 of the 2021-2022 Serie A TIM, Atalanta beat Venezia 4-0 at the Gewiss Stadium in Bergamo.
Coach Gasperini, who collected the Lega Serie A award as Coach of the Month for November ahead of the match, lined up Hateboer, who made the first appearance of the season after sitting out for a long injury. The first effort of the game came off the visitors within seconds, but Musso was alert on Busio. Then Pašalić went wild, as he broke the ice in the 7th minute by turning Iličić’s assist in after a good team move. He doubled Atalanta’s lead on 12 minutes, this time with a left-foot finish on Muriel’s assist. That 2-0 lead influenced the game and Musso denied Henry on 21 minutes to seal the 2-0 scoreline in the first half.
The second half opened up with Romero denying Pašalić for the hat-trick, but it was Koopmeiners who fired home with an extremely precise shot and scored his first goal for Atalanta. Muriel almost added a fourth in the 62nd minute, as his shot bounced off the post, then he pulled back from the by-line and set up Pašalić, who hit a hat-trick. In the final minutes, Miranchuk also had the chance to leave his mark, as he first fired inches wide and then was denied by an on-rushing Romero.
