Academy: this weekend’s outcomes (4/6)

League matches on the weekend

The Under 17 came off worst from the 1st leg of the quarter-finals match disputed at the Centro Bortolotti in Zingonia against Roma and resulted in the 1-0 win for the Giallorossi (who took the lead with a late goal). Worst of luck for the Nerazzurri as the U17s couldn’t capitalize on the many chances had throughout the whole game (among those, stands out the post hit by Ragnoli Galli).

As for the Under-16s, our lads couldn’t make it past the quarter-finals. After drawing the 1st-leg match 1-1, the Black-and-blues suffered a 2-1 landslide in the outing against Parma (as Bonsignori Goggi featured the score sheet for Atalanta scoring from a direct free-kick).

Moving on to our female sides, the 1st-leg of the quarter-finals saw Inter imposing themselves 3-1 over our Under 15s in the home match played in Zingonia – with Crotti scoring the consolation goal for Atalanta.

TOURNAMENTS: THE U12s TRIUMPH IN NAPLES

As for all our sides embroiled in weekend tournaments, while the Under-18s were defeated 7-5 on penalties in the third-place play-off against Inter this Friday in the Modanesi Memorial Tournament hosted in Fara Gera D’Adda (after the 2-2 draw at the end of the regular game time with Manzoni and Ndongue Ndongue featuring the score sheet), the Under 15 were crowned runners-up of the Rotamartir Memorial Tournament in Grumello del Monte: as Brescia imposed themselves 2-1 in the final, Martano’s goal did not suffice.

The Under 12, pictured below, showcased a budding performance in the 7th D’Alterio Group International Trophy hosted in Naples on the weekend, with the peewee side trained by coach Rebba flaunting a full haul of eight victories. While our lads defeated the likes of Hellas Verona (3-1), Internapoli (6-0), IFK Stockholm (10-0) and Lazio (7-1) in the group stage; the road to the final saw the Under-12s imposed themselves against Udinese (4-1) in the round of last-16; Napoli (4-0)in the quarter-finals; Empoli (5-3) in the semi-finals and Inter (5-4) in the Final.

While our goalkeeper Ghezzi was picked in the Top 9 of the tournament, Magrin (Atalanta’s top-scorer with 10 goals) etched his name in this edition’s yearbook as he made it to the podium of the MVPs of the competition
