Atalanta BC wish to inform the successful registration of the newly established Under 23 side to the 2023-2024 Serie C (Third Division) championship. Today, the Federal Council approved the procedural requests issued by Atalanta, admitting the black-and-blue B Team to the Lega Pro. The admission of the Under 23 side to the upcoming Lega Pro championship will provide the Club with an invaluable opportunity for growth: the addition of a trait-d’union will bridge the competitive divide between top-flight professional football and youth leagues, while also allowing Atalanta to monitor even more closely the nurturing of their Academy players.
Luca Percassi, CEO of Atalanta BC, has ecstatically declared: “I’m most satisfied with this outcome: we have always held the option of starting the Under 23 project in high regard. The admission to the upcoming Lega Pro championship represents a tipping point in the growth of Atalanta’s Academy and all its youngsters”.
