In the 76th minute of the home game played against Sassuolo, Mitchel Bakker scored his first-ever goal for Atalanta. With his left-footed drive from the edge of the box, which got deflected by an opposing defender, the Nerazzurro edged past Consigli and left his mark scoring the third of the game.
A goal is a goal nonetheless, and the Dutch wingback got to celebrate his first bullseye ever since landing in Bergamo, scoring on his 9th Serie A cap – his 13th appearance in all competitions.
Being Bakker’s Serie A scoring debut, the number of different Atalanta players to have featured on the scoreboard in the Italian top-flight division so far this season has risen to 15, with 19 being the global tally if we enlarge the scope to all competitions.
