Matchday 17 of the 2023-2024 Serie A TIM saw all three points go to Bologna who won 1-0 with a late goal at the Stadio Dall’Ara.
After an even start without any real scoring chances, the home side threatened in the 24th minute through Saelemaekers, who shot over the bar from the edge of the area. From that moment on, the Nerazzurri began to push forward and threaten: De Ketelaere sent Lookman through on 35 minutes, but the Nigerian striker’s effort was off target; four minutes later Koopmeiners nodded over from De Ketelaere’s cross; in the 44th minute, Lookman ran forward to set up Éderson, whose clear-cut chance was thwarted by the onrushing Skorupski. It was the other way round in the second minute of stoppage time when Éderson turned provider for Lookman, who fired over.
The Nerazzurri continued to threaten after the restart when Lookman broke down the left and rolled across for Koopmeiners, who was denied by Freuler’s desperate clearance. De Ketelaere then stung Skorupski’s gloves with a long-range effort, while Lookman grazed the post from the edge of the area. Zirkzee combined with Fabbian to send a 63rd-minute effort over, while Ferguson’s 83rd-minute effort also went wide. A minute later, Koopmeiners rolled across for Muriel, who fired over. Ferguson finally broke the deadlock in the 86th minute with a header from a corner to seal victory for the home side at the Dall’Ara.
