Cambiaghi: the framework of our Female sides

Six teams, from the U17s to the U11s

With the gatherings of our Under 17 and Under 15 taking place on Wednesday morning, preparations have officially started also for our Female sides in view of a rather hectic season. Stefano Cambiaghi, chief coordinator of our Female Sides, has commented the upcoming steps as follows: “Our main goal is the continuous, on-going growth and improvement of our players, be them personal or collective. As far as results are concerned, ever since the rearrangement of the divisions and the addition of the Final Phases for the contention of the title, our teams have always made it to the Final-8 without fail. As such, we strive to make ourselves a household name and a regular of the best octet in Italy. In other respects, the guidelines are aimed at establishing an identity more Bergamo-based and more Atalantina with each passing day: after all,  many lasses from our territory are already the backbone of our roster and we wish to give them the best opportunities to grow “.

“Most of trainers from the previous season have been confirmed –Cambiaghi cares to delve into the chosen line -. The only changes, but solely in terms of  team allocation, have been brought about at the Attività di Base level to ensure continuity in terms of work group to the trainers. Namely, the  Under 17 will be still trained by Michele Frigerio, the U15s by Gennaro De Maria,  the U14s by Giuseppe Zonca (in order to continue to work with the roster of 2010), the U13s by Alberto Signorelli, the U12s by Diego Fasolini  and the U11s by Michele Ghisu.

While the first teams getting back on the pitch have been the U17s, comprising players born in 2007 and 2008, and the U15s, comprising the group of players born 2009; the last one in order of appearance will be the U11s -made up of players born in 2013 and 2014, all of them being new signings coming from our affiliated clubs, to which we wish to tender our thanks. While waiting for the start of the new season, we will undergo a rather stretched run-up, in which we are seeking to play as many matches as possible. Among the first commitments scheduled for late August, while the U15s are to take part in the Female Coppa Quarenghi in San Pellegrino Terme; the Under 17 will be disputing the “Le Rose del Moscato” tournament in Scanzorosciate”.

“A new feature for the upcoming season- these were Cambiaghi’s closing words – will be the full-on Female Football School. After registering a significant year-on-year growth in terms of commitment with the all-female camps, we opted to go the whole hog and implement the option of fully-fledged seasonal female round during the course of the next Football School”.
