On the 2020-2021 Serie A TIM matchday 30 Atalanta claim a very important 3-2 win over Fiorentina at the stadium Franchi in Florence. It was a thrilling match, full of chances and goals, which was decided by Zapata’s brace and Iličić’s penalty.

It was a strong start from the Nerazzurri, who immediately tried to find the right play to get past the Viola defence. After a few efforts, Zapata opened the scoring with a towering header from Malinovskyi’s corner on 13. Zapata tested again the Viola goalkeeper on 20 with an angled drive and almost doubled the Nerazzurri’s lead on 30, but Dragowski rushed out to parry his effort. He bagged a brace anyway on 40: Malinovskyi’s through ball found Zapata, who beat the keeper easily. In stoppage time, just before half-time, Castrovilli fired just wide.

The second half was lively. Fiorentina pulled one back through Vlahovic, who fired a half-volley in after Caceres had nodded a cross down for him. All of this arrived amongst the complaining of the Nerazzurri due to a reversed throw-in. Dragowski pulled off another great save on 60 when he denied Toloi from close range. That’s when Fiorentina completed their comeback through Vlahovic, who was unmarked and put Kouame’s assist in. It was all over again for Atalanta, but their reaction was immediate and Iličić scored from the spot to make it 3-2 after Quarta’s handball. Fiorentina pushed hard in the final minutes looking for an equaliser but the best chances came off the Nerazzurri, with Pašalić and Zapata both missing the fourth goal.
