Friendly match against 1. FC Union Berlin on 5/8

To Kick Off at 15:30 CEST in Berlin

A new international friendly has just been pencilled into Atalanta’s summer schedule, after July’s break-in against Bournemouth: on Saturday, August 5, the Black-and-blues will take on Union Berlin, the German side currently competing in the Bundesliga and set to take part in the next UEFA Champions League.

The fixture is to be played at the “An der Alten Försterei” stadium in Berlin with kick-off at 15:30 CEST.

Founded in 1906, 1. Fußballclub Union Berlin e.V.’s honours comprise the 1967/68 FDGB-Pokal (The East German Cup). Ever since their promotion to the Bundesliga in 2019, the German side have been registering a year-on-year “crescendo”, consistently taking part in the main European competitions within the last three seasons: starting off with the appearance in the 2021-2022 UEFA Conference League, their European roaming reached new heights in the just-concluded season, setting the UEFA Europa League round of 16 as the latest continental milestone of the Club.

Having finished fourth with 62 points last season, the Eiserne will make their first-ever appearance in the upcoming UEFA Champions League campaign.
