His first game on charge was on the 13rd of August 2016 in the 3-0 home win over Cremonese in the third round of Coppa Italia.

Gasperini is the second coach in the history of Atalanta to reach this prestigious achievement, after Emiliano Mondonico, whose tally was at 246.
