Gian Piero Gasperini spoke in his press conference on the eve of Sampdoria-Atalanta of the 2020-2021 Serie A TIM matchday 24. The Nerazzurri return to the pitch after the first leg of the Champions League round of 16 which saw Atalanta play outnumbered from the 17th minute. “It’s clear we used up a lot of energy in the match against Real, but we’ve always been able to spread our focus throughout the different competitions. Tomorrow’s match against Sampdoria is important for the league. This year, we lost important points against the teams in the lower half of the table, hence we’ll have to be even more alert. These are difficult and balanced matches for all, not only for us”.

“After the Champions League – the Nerazzurri coach continued – we restart from focusing on the league: we are up there, in the Europe zone and we know the importance of the next games. After Samp, we’ll have Crotone and then, finally, our campaign will ‘lengthen’ a bit with more days between a match and another”.
