Gian Piero Gasperini spoke at a press conference ahead of Atalanta’s third home game of the 2022-2023 Serie A TIM season against Cremonese. The matchday 6 fixture is scheduled for Sunday 11 September at 12:30 CEST at the Gewiss Stadium. “Cremonese immediately gave an image of a dynamic, organised and aggressive team. They had a tough schedule, especially away from home, and were also a bit unlucky on a few occasions. I expect a difficult game, we will have to play with our weapons and be in a good condition. We should also have the right enthusiasm, as there will be a lot of people and this should be one of our strengths. We must win the result on the pitch because too many times at home we have had difficulties”.

He then commented on his team being top of the league this week: “I am living this situation like when a cyclist wins the pink jersey at the Giro d’Italia [the bicycle race]: maybe he doesn’t think it’s possible to win the Giro, but in the meantime, he has the jersey and it’s not something that many can wear.
