Gian Piero Gasperini spoke at a press conference ahead of Atalanta’s away match against Udinese. The 2022-2023 Serie A TIM matchday 9 fixture is scheduled for Sunday 9 October at 15:00 CEST at the Dacia Arena in Udine: “Some may say that Udinese are the new Atalanta and this might be true. They are one point behind us. People hold them in high esteem for what they have done in the first eight games. I expect Udinese to be at their best, as they come from a period of great enthusiasm. Udinese are a very strong team both in terms of how they play and the players they have. We must play our game as we have done many times. We have to focus on our strengths and qualities. Atalanta must take the good things they have done so far and improve”.

This will be the coach from Grugliasco’s 300th game at the helm of Atalanta, overtaking Emiliano Mondonico and thus becoming the manager who has overseen the most games in club history: “Setting a record for games in charge of this Club is a beautiful story, it has changed my life. It’s a wonderful thing that has happened here in Bergamo, it’s a record I’m particularly proud of. I just have to thank everyone for these wonderful years, the Club, the President, his family, all the players, and the fans.
