West Ham 2-0 Atalanta

First international test of the season

The international friendly at the London Stadium against West Ham saw the hosts win 2-0. However, it was a good test for Atalanta as, despite the final result, the Nerazzurri faced a team who are ready to play their season opener in the Premier League: the London-based side, in fact, will kick off their domestic campaign in one week.

It was a good start from Atalanta, who responded well to West Ham’s plays. However, after pulling off some great saves and defensive displays, the visitors scored late in the first half to take the lead through Antonio. The second half saw the Nerazzurri push hard looking for an equaliser, with the best chances coming off Zapata and Muriel. After some back-and-forth, West Ham doubled their lead with a late fortuitous goal, which came off Fornals and sealed the victory for the hosts.
