Mola is back! As the New Year brought about a new and improved version of Atalanta, capable of claiming 4 victories in 7 matches and with a newfound playing brilliance, the stunning tally of 22 goals scored in January stands as a testament to the mark left by the Orobic attackers: thus, it is no coincidence that our strikers bulldozed this month’s ballots, featuring as the line with the highest number of Player of The Month votes cast via the ItalianOptic app!

With Lookman literally picking up where he left off, Mola went on an impressive scoring spree of three consecutive braces (namely the ones scored week in and week out against the likes of, respectively, Salernitana, Spezia and Juventus) and coming full circle with his single goal against Sampdoria as the cherry on top. Even though not rewarding the newly-appointed AIC Player of the month with our in-house POTM award would have been a call too tough to make, Højlund nonetheless did not go down swinging and tried his best to turn the table around until the very last second: the golden moment of our Danish striker, scoring in four matches in a row, surely did not go unnoticed among our fanbase who conferred on him the second place. Unsurprisingly, Jérémie Boga clinched a well-deserved second place as he took on the mantle of a proverbial wingman, thanks to his tally of 5 assists and one goal.

With Lookman resuming the sceptre after the back-to-back POTM lifted back in October and November, we cannot help but take our hats off to his performances: kudos to you, Mola!
