The Under-21 European Championship has come to an early end for Caleb Okoli and Giorgio Scalvini’s Italy, as the Azzurrini failed to qualify for the knockout stage after losing 1-0 to Norway in the third and final match of Group D.

The two Atalanta players started in this final game too, as Okoli completed the full 90 minutes while Scalvini featured for 76 minutes. Decisive was the goal difference in the head-to-head record between Italy, Norway and Switzerland, who all ended the group stage on 3 points. In the end, it was Switzerland who qualified behind France as runners-up.
