Premio Brembo 2022/23: the event at the Centro Bortolotti

With the presence of the entire Atalanta Youth Academy

The Centro Bortolotti in Zingonia hosted the delivery ceremony of the 2022-2023 “Premio Brembo”: the initiative, now at its 5th edition, stems from a joint venture with Brembo, Top Sponsor of the black-and-blue Academy, on the common grounds of sporting development and, foremost, the human and behavioural values that set the players born and bred within the Atalanta Youth Sector apart.

As per custom, awards went to all those boys and girls, picked from the Academy sides ranging from the U15s all the way to the Primavera, showcasing outstanding features in terms of fair play, commitment and academic performances as well -with voting procedures following criteria beyond sporting-related aspects.

The ceremony was attended by Atalanta Academy in full force, drawing in, aside from the 400 footballers (from both male and female sides), coaches, trainers, the medical staff and executives from all squads (from the Primavera to the Piccoli Amici peewee team).

After the opening greetings from Romano Zanforlin, Marketing and Commercial Director, Maurizio Costanzi, Chief of the Academy, who also took the floor:

“We’re once again embroiled in carrying on the legacy of this wonderful project. With this unity of purpose joining Brembo and Atalanta, we are upholding key educational values: social, sport and schooling are all but a part of a program aimed at bolstering all these youngsters in keep chasing their dream as they grow up. When we first met five years ago to envisage this project, what struck me the most about a leading company like Brembo was its awareness towards children. What stands before us today is the product of the relentless and dark work carried out by the many people who proudly stood by us throughout the years”.

Followed by the welcome speech by Cristina Bombassei, Chief Corporate Social Responsibility Officer at Brembo, Top Sponsor of the Academy:

“The Premio Brembo, now at its 5th edition, has become a momentous symbol of our partnership with Atalanta. With every passing year, this award holds growing relevance for us due to it being a tangible testament and a reward to all those boys and girls who distinguished themselves not solely from a footballing standpoint but foremost with respect to sportsmanship and academic performances. Talent, passion and dedication are the three pillars and underlying values that drive Atalanta’s Youth Sector and that are constantly nurtured by the tireless work carried out by the technical staffing, the Percassi family and by Maurizio Costanzi, whom I thank on behalf of Brembo”.

We also wish to underscore the presence of Roberto Cattaneo and Daniele Bettini from Brembo, the main executives of the black-and-blue Academy and, foremost, Lucia Castelli, psycho-pedagogue of Atalanta BC and literal “dea ex machina” of all the Academy awards and ceremonies.
