On matchday 2 of the 2022-2023 Primavera 1 TIM “Trofeo Giacinto Facchetti” at the Centro Bortolotti in Zingonia Torino win 3-2 as the hosts complete a late comeback.
It was a difficult start for Atalanta, as they conceded a goal on 4 minutes. But Fioretto’s team reacted quickly: De Nipoti sent Vavassori through on 9 minutes but his shot was saved, Fisic broke away on 11 minutes but his finish was parried. The equalizer arrived in the 27th minute when Gineitis fouled Fisic and De Nipoti converted the penalty to make it 1-1. Palestra gave Atalanta the lead three minutes later with a volley assisted by Fisic.
The second half opened with De Nipoti setting up Vavassori, whose angled drive was parried by the goalkeeper and Muhameti’s left-footed shot hit the post on 60 minutes. Torino responded with Jurgens, who first hit the crossbar with a great finish from distance and then tested Bertini. The equalizer came in the 78th minute through Dell’Aquila. Torino came close to taking the lead in the 85th minute, but Bertini was very good at denying Dell’Aquila with his foot. However, he found the winning goal in the first minute of added time for the final 3-2.
Atalanta will be back at the Centro Bortolotti on Tuesday at 16:30 CEST for the midweek league match against Roma.
