On Matchday 27 of the 2023-2024 Primavera 1 TIM “Trofeo Giacinto Facchetti” league, Atalanta won 4-1 away to Fiorentina at the Viola Park in Bagno a Ripoli thanks to a brace from Vavassori (pictured in the cover) and goals from Manzoni and Riccio. With this result, the Nerazzurri move into second place in the standings with 49 points.

Before kick-off, a minute’s silence was observed in memory of Fiorentina General Manager Joe Barone, who passed away on 19 March.

Moving on to the match, the Nerazzurri took an early lead when Vavassori’s back-heel flick set up Manzoni, who fired home with his right foot in the 2nd minute. Vavassori’s soft touch in the 23rd minute then put Atalanta 2-0 up.

In the second half, Riccio added a third for the Nerazzurri in the 58th minute when he nodded home Ghezzi’s cross from the right. Fiorentina pulled one back in the 65th minute through Caprini’s header, and two minutes later Rubino’s long-range shot hit the crossbar for the Viola. The Nerazzurri finished it off in the 88th minute through Vavassori, who scored a brace, this time assisted by Castiello, to seal a 4-1 away win.
