Spoils were shared on matchday 19 of the 2023-2024 Primavera 1 TIM “Trofeo Giacinto Facchetti” league, as Atalanta drew 2-2 with Monza at the “Luigi Berlusconi” Training Ground in Monza.
The home side broke the deadlock in the 20th minute through Ferraris, who opened the scoring after a scramble in the Atalanta box. Monza threatened again in the 31st minute, but this time it was Marras who shot wide. Atalanta responded on 31 minutes when Armstrong forced the Monza goalkeeper into a difficult save and fired over the bar.
Vlahović threatened an equaliser in the second half, but his 58th-minute scorcher was off target, while Vavassori’s 65th-minute effort was saved by the Monza goalkeeper. Vlahović hit back for Atalanta in the 70th minute, heading home Guerini’s cross to level the scores. Atalanta piled on the pressure, but Mazza’s desperate saves kept out Manzoni’s 76th-minute angled shot, Vlahović’s 79th-minute header, Comi’s deflection and Manzoni’s double attempt. In the 82nd minute, the Monza goalkeeper kept out Vlahović’s close-range effort before a handball on Vavassori’s shot sparked Atalanta’s protests. The Nerazzurri took a deserved lead in the 88th minute when Vlahović converted Vavassori’s penalty. However, Monza were awarded an injury-time spot-kick, which Antunovic converted to make it 2-2.
