Atalanta’s Primavera side beat Vicenza 3-1 in the 2023-2024 Primavera TIM Cup Round of 32 tie played at the Centro Bortolotti and qualified for the Round of 16 of the competition where Bosi’s lads will play Inter away on 6 December.
Our Primavera side got off to a strong start and broke the deadlock seven minutes into the match through Fiogbe, who converted the penalty that was awarded to the Nerazzurri for a foul on Vavassori. The same duo also contributed the second goal in the 18th minute, when Vavassori, once again the provider, found a way through down the right and rolled it across for our no. 17, who completed his brace. The Nerazzurri kept pushing, creating chances and producing a solid display: all of this led to a third goal, courtesy of Bordiga this time, who steered home a loose ball on 28 minutes before Mogentale tested Sala in the 35th minute.
The second half saw Mion pull one back for the visitors on 55 minutes and Sala making two wonderful saves, first on Imbevaro and then on Muraro’s 66th-minute spot-kick; this was the second penalty parried in a row for the Nerazzurri goalkeeper after Sunday’s save in the U18 match against Sampdoria. With no further threats, the Nerazzurri won 3-1 at the Centro Bortolotti.
