With the new run of the Sponsor League starting tonight, the football tournament arranged by Atalanta for their sponsors and business partners has now entered its 5th edition.

In breaking with tradition, the fifth run of the black-and-blue B2B championship will see nine teams, arranged in three groups of 3 sides each, hit the Centro Bortolotti pitches tonight for MD1 of the Group Stage: in addition to the habitués Brembo, Effeci Tecnoimpianti, Habilita, It Core, Sacbo, Linee Vita Spider, Tao Ambiente and Tenaris Dalmine,  a fully-fledged corporate Atalanta BC side will take on the household names of the trophy this year.

After the first leg that takes place this evening, the return games are scheduled for Monday, May 13. With each Group Winner and runner-up making it to the knockout phase, the semifinals will take place on May 13 right after the Group Stage’s MD2: namely, while the first semi-final has the best overall runner-up pitted against the Group C winner; the second tie will have Group A and Group B winners face off for a place in the Grand Final.

With the Gewiss Stadium opening its gates for the Sponsor League’s Final, save the date for May 17.
