U17s: defeating Milan away in the late kick-off

Bellini's lads imposed themselves 2-1 courtesy of Galletti and Lykholit

With a great team performance, Gianpaolo Bellini’s U17s claimed a crucial win in the late kick-off game against Milan: with the away win claimed today in the 4th reverse league fixture, not only have the Nerazzurri imposed themselves over the current pace-setters but they have also halted the Rossoneri’s unbeaten streak, having Milan not known a single defeat this season before trading blows with Atalanta.

While the Nerazzurri took an early lead in the 11th minute as Galletti came out on top from a scram in the opponents’ box, the home side levelled halfway through the first half. It was then Lykholit who tipped the scales for Atalanta in the second half, crowning his debut for Atalanta with the winning goal: showing a great sense of goal, the Nerazzurro slotted in Idele’s cross coming from the right flank.

On the grounds of today’s success, Atalanta U17s climbed up to 32 points in the standings after 17 games, thus securing their (already) tight grip on the third place even further.
