At the end of the game that marked his 200th professional game match as a coach, manager Francesco Modesto addressed the team’s away draw against Triestina as follows: “We did well tonight, even more so considering that within just three days we had to face the likes of Mantova and Triestina, two of the league’s main protagonists. Not only did the lads hold their own with spades, but I also want to congratulate Comi on his professional debut: coming through the Primavera he is yet another proof of the flawless job carried out by Atalanta BC’s Youth System. Regardless of the outcome, seeing a youngster like Pietro not shying away from standing his ground against more seasoned attackers like he did tonight speaks volumes of his capabilities and his character”.

“Besides the odd slip-ups in the first half – coach Modesto went on -, we compensated by racking up a few chances. However, we couldn’t capitalize on any of them. While we could have done more and better in the second half, especially given that we conceded the goal in an easily manageable situation. Still, that’s part of football as well! We kept believing till the end and we found the equaliser”.

In his closing remarks the Atalanta coach stressed how: “These outcomes stem from the hard work carried out by the lads: while their knack for reading the game is truly a blessing, they just have to be increasingly aware of their qualities in order to approach these last games with the proper mindset”.
